확신감 나타내기

Model Dialog :

A: Have you heard school is going to be closed
tomorrow?
B: You're kidding! School isn't really going to be closed
tomorrow, is it?
A: Yes, it is. I'm absolutely positive!

A: 내일 학교가 휴교할 거라는 얘기 들었니?
B: 설마! 내일 학교가 정말로 휴교하는 건 아니지, 그렇지?
A: 그렇다니까. 정말 확실해!

Speaking Tip : 「확실하다」,「정말이다」,「진심이다」와 같이 말하는 사람의 확신을 나타내는 표현으로는 I'm sure. / I'm positive. / I'm serious. / I mean it. 등이 있다. 확신하는 내용을 함께 말할 때에는 It is certain that ~ / It is obvious that ~ / I'm sure that ~ / I'm certain that ~ 등이 있으며, I bet (you) that ~의 구문을 쓸 수도 있다.

- I'm positive. (확실합니다.)
- I'm serious. (진심입니다.)
- I mean it. (진심이예요.)
- You bet. (틀림없어요.)

- I'm sure of his succeeding. (나는 그의 성공을 확신한다.)

A: Bob resigned? You must be kidding!
B: It's true. I'm positive.
A: He worked so hard. I just can't believe it.
B: Same here. But it's true.

A: 밥이 사직했다구요? 농담이겠죠!
B: 사실이예요. 확실해요.
A: 그는 아주 열심히 일했는데. 도저히 믿을 수가 없어요.
B: 저도 그래요. 하지만 사실이예요.
