사람 묘사하기

Model Dialog :

A: Now, what did the person look like?
B: He was kind of tall and thin.
A: About how tall was he?
B: About five feet.
A: Five feet. And how much did he weigh?
B: I'm not sure. Maybe about 140 lbs.

A: 자, 그 사람이 어떻게 생겼습니까?
B: 키가 크고 야윈 편이었어요.
A: 키는 대략 어느 정도였습니까?
B: 약 5피트 정도요.
A: 5피트라. 그리고 몸무게는 어느 정도였습니까?
B: 잘 모르겠어요. 아마 140파운드 정도 될 겁니다.

Speaking Tip : 사람의 키, 체격, 몸무게, 나이, 머리색 등 사람의 외견상의 특징을 묻고 답하는 표현들로는 다음과 같은 것들이 있다.

- What's he like? (그는 어떻게 생겼습니까?)
- What does he look like? (그는 어떻게 생겼습니까?)
- How tall is he? (그는 키가 얼마나 큽니까?)
- How much does he weigh? (그는 몸무게가 얼마나 됩니까?)
- About how old is he? (그는 몇 살 정도나 됩니까?)
- What color is his hair? (그의 머리색은 무엇입니까?)
- Any marks on his face? (그의 얼굴에 어떤 특징이 있나요?)

Dialog Practice 1 :

A: And about how old was he?
B: Oh, he was fairly young in his mid-teens, I think,
fifteen or sixteen.
A: What color was his hair?
B: Black, and it was long and straight.

A: 그리고 나이는 어느 정도였습니까?
B: 아, 아주 어렸어요. 10대 중반인 것 같아요. 열 다섯이나 열 여섯살이요.
A: 머리는 무슨 색깔이었습니까?
B: 검은 머리에, 긴 생머리였어요.

Dialog Practice 2 :

A: You say he was around average height.
B: Yes, that's right! Around 5-9 or 5-10.
A: Weight?
B: I'm not sure. Medium, I suppose. Maybe a little on
the heavy side.
A: Any marks on his face?
B: No, I don't think so.

A: 그가 보통 정도의 키란 말이죠.
B: 네, 그래요. 약 5피트 9인치나 5피트 10인치 정도입니다.
A: 체중은요?
